Whatever the case, wherever you are from! We want to partner with you to bring your clients a unique and engaging Northern Territory experience.
Alice Springs School of the Air Experience is a much loved feature on the itinerary of many tours and travel experiences to Central Australia. If you are looking to develop a tour to Alice Springs, we’d love to partner with you to ensure your clients get to experience our unique and authentic attraction, located a mere 5 minutes drive north of the CBD.
Upon arrival at Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre we provide your group with a local guide to welcome your clients. Your clients will discover the evolution of our school through engaging displays, a presentation by your friendly guide and an in-house film. Your clients will observe the interactions between our teachers and students during a live or pre-recorded lesson in one of our five broadcasting studios. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes for the presentation, tour and shopping.
A visit to the Alice Springs School of the Air offers valuable support for educators and students in addressing the ethical dimensions outlined in the General Capabilities section of the Australian Curriculum. This experience presents a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a world vastly different from their own, both geographically and culturally. It fosters an understanding of communities marked by geographical isolation and encourages students to forge connections between their own lived experiences and those of others. Moreover, it cultivates essential skills in communication, empathy, and critical analysis of intercultural encounters.
By engaging with our program, students have the chance to reevaluate their own perspectives and attitudes, gaining valuable insights into themselves and the diverse perspectives of others.
See below for more information regarding our opening times. We will always attempt to accommodate tour groups if you require a time slot outside our regular opening hours. Please contact us to discuss your itinerary. Please note that a surcharge may apply for opening outside regular hours.
Group rates are available on request for a party of 6 or more people, provided the visit is booked in advance and payment is made in one transaction, either in advance or, if pre-approved, on the day.
Our guides are English speaking however our English in-house film are subtitled in French and German. Information sheets are available in the same languages, as well as Danish, Japanese, Spanish, Swedish and Hebrew.
Please contact us a minimum of 48 hours prior to arrival to confirm group numbers and advise the nationality of the group. We shall ensure that the filmed is played with the correct subtitled language and an information sheet in that language is available for each visitor. For foreign language groups with a translator (who wishes to translate our guide’s presentation) we recommend allowing 60 minutes your visit.
We understand that the unexpected happens, especially in the Outback. We have developed our cancellation policy to best allow for late notice group cancellations:
